Typical 'Side of the Road' Used Car Dealership-Bad!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Spanos is the reason used car places get a bad name! Terrible customer service. Don't buy a car there!! Look at all the bad reviews online! I was looking to buy a Nissan Frontier from them and was told it was available. I told them I wanted to come out asap so I could look at it, and possibly put a deposit on it. They said it was still being serviced and it would be a day or two before it was available to see. I called them a day later to come out and take a look and they said they had an employee who liked it and had first 'dibs' on it. Most reputable companies put the customer first, but here, the employees come first. They said his financing may not go through and even though I was a customer and cash buyer, they would sell to him first. I still went out to see it, liked it, and put a $200 deposit on it, so that if the employee's financing didn't go through, the car would go to me. Later that day the salesman, Donnie, said the car was mine if I wanted it, I assumed the employee's financing didn't go through. I went ahead and sold my truck since I was assured the Nissan was mine, and I needed the money from the sale of my truck to complete the cash transaction. A day later, I texted Donnie to find out if the truck was ready and the final price, and he said that the employee was now looking at alternative financing and that he still might buy it!! I told Donnie that this was very unprofessional and that I was told the truck was mine, and that I already sold my truck!. He checked with his GM, and they agreed to return my deposit, it appears they were dead set on selling the truck to this employee. I now need to rent a car until I find another one. Terrible experience, unprofessional and the type of service you would expect from a nasty roadside used car dealership! Don't buy there, you will have problems!!! Hopefully I get my deposit back!

Horrible.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Made the mistake of a lifetime buying a vehicle here. Bought a used Jetta for my college student.

Did not buy the expensive extensive warranty. Bought a total lemon! Noticed problems two weeks after purchase. Called Spanos, took the vehicle back several times and was told would cost me large dollars to fix.

Brought the car back to New York and so far have put over $4000 in the vehicle. Have placed several calls to Spanos GM who finally after a dozen calls returned my call. He was rude and basically told me it was my problem including that I was just a "snob from NY" I was appalled!! We are finally getting rid of this lemon but still on the loan.

We have put more than $4000 in the vehicle and it still isn't fixed. We bought the vehicle with all the rear springs broken, a non functioning ABS module, a bad valve body in the transmission, several recall parts that never got replaced, an electronic throttle body failure, a bad ECU unit, a non functioning rear door, dirty, rusty transmission fluid, and many other problems!!! Spanos takes NO responsibility. They are criminals.

Do not buy from here. If I could get a lawyer or take legal action, I would but they know they are safe and do not care. Karma is all I can say.

The GM doesn't a conscience and is an indecent human being. Low life.

Spanos Motors - Customer Care Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Purchased a car there in August. Received paper temp tag on the spot. Fast forward six months later and I have finally received my title to the vehicle. They claimed paperwork got lost in the shuffle… and expected me to be patient because they were doing me the courtesy of sending me numerous temporary tags. I have finally received my title and would not recommend this dealership to anyone. They will sell you a car gladly and then leave you hanging on the paperwork. Very poor business practice!

Spanos Motors - Customer Care Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I found a mini they had. I called got approved with a lender. Then from that point forward all they wanted was a deposit. I saw the car online only. When I asked for some kind of prof that they would honor what therms would be. They started being very aggressive and Nick's demener got very combative. I was told that they sold 30 cars a month and that he didny have time to *** me. When all I was asking him was some sort of prof via email anything of my terms. I didnt want to drive 5 hours from Miami for nothing. They next day the owner calls me to ask me if I still wanted the car. When I explained to him the way I was treated he told me " I can tell know why Nick treated you that way. Your a bad buyer". What the *** does that even mean. Horrible cuatomer service. Beware buyer youve been warned.

Complete nightmare! Cars on the web site are no where to be found when you get to thier dealership! I believe they use this to lure you in by leaving up nice cars on thier web site that are already sold or mabe never avalible ! When you do find a car you like , it's dead, major issues, broken interior parts, dirty, no where near the picture they post online. They make deals then don't honor the agreed price! Try to get you to pay 3 or 4K over what they list the cars at! They always have to do a we owe you sheet because none I mean none of the cars on thier lot are in resale condition ! The best line they say is we fix the issues after you buy it! Lol what kind of dealership does this!! Why don't you try to make your cars more presentable ! Atleast start them every other day so when someone comes in to see car , atleast it starts lol!! Pay someone to wash these cars on a weekly basis !! Take a little pride in your business ! No buyer wants to show up to spend 20k on a car that won't start when you are showing the car! No wants to buy a car that the ses light on! They expect to see a car that is washed and swept out, Windows cleaned, that can start with out a jump box! They also expect to have trust in your employee's that when you accept a agreed upon amount , that you honor that deal ! Not wait till that person spent the day getting a loan at thier bank for the agreed upon amount , then spend 4 hours at the dealership just waiting for you to even get the car started and rigged enough just to get a test drive out of it! Then when it's time to sign the papers , with drawl the accepted offer and ask for 3k more for the car! Blaming a sales person that they didn't have the ability to make that deal! Not only the sales person but also the sales manager who agreed on the number! The amount offered was more than a fair price for the car and its issues ! It actually was about 1500 more than the car is valued at! That is a fact! Your finance guy had the nerve to tell me that car had a 18500 trade in value !!!! Lol lol lol , I almost fell out of the chair laughing!! I don't know where you find these employee's but if it was my business I would clean house!!! And clean it fast!!!

Spanos fully fixed the issue and finished the deal! Thank you for reaching out and making things right!!!

Guest

The dealership did reach out to me later that night, and the following day. They are having me come in tomorrow and discuss the issue !

I find this to be a great start at resolving the problem I had with my nightmare visit the day I wrote this review! If all goes well tomorrow I will remove my review and rate my new experience ! There are still a lot of issues with this dealership that need to improve like taking some pride in thier business and cars by cleaning up thier inventory to make the cars more presentable and making sure the cars start when a buyer comes in to test drive them! A little window cleaner and vacuum and soap and water go a long way with making a car more presentable!

Also need to keep web site updated better, cars that sold weeks ago are still listed on your site for sale !

I do appreciate the follow up call and trying to make things right! That is a awesome first step to doing the right thing!

2011 Mercedes Benz Gl350 Car Review from Atlanta, Georgia

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Sitting here at Spano's Motors AGAIN. Came in the end of July and purchased a 2011 diesel Mecedies. I fell in love with the car and the sales staff was great so I went for it with a small list of repairs I wanted don't to the car before I took possession. Within the 1st 24 hours of owning the car it broke down, not just act funny actually broke down. Contacted Spano's they towed it in and gave me a loaner. The A/C on the loaner didn't work had to bring it back and swapped it out for the vehicle I had traded in. Went home then received a call that they forgot to put a tag on the car so I had to come back. I refused to come back so they sent a runner to my home with a tag. After what seemed to be weeks they called that my car was repaired. Thrilled I went to pick it up and negotiated with them that if anything went wrong again in the next 30 days they would give me my trade back and take their Mercedes back. I appericiate that they went along with this. Sure enough 2 weeks later (one entire week I was on vacation and the car was parked) it broke down again making the most awful grinding sounds and refusing to move. AGAIN me and my children were left stranded again. I started calling the dealer call after call with promises of a call back, hours past. Finally my husband and I headed for Spano's again. At this point when I reached the dealership I was furious. I demanded to see a manager and undo the deal and had to wait everyone was much to busy for me. Finally a manager met with me, I told him it would be best if we just went our separate ways me with my original trade and them with their Mercedes. I left assured that the loan would be taken out of my name immediately and the tag swapped no problem. Here it is August 13th and I am sitting again at Spano's the Mercedes loan is still in my name and they payments start soon, I am still driving my trade in with a dealer tag. I have called Spano's every other day from August 1 with never a returned call. Here I am and now they are telling me they can't really do anything about that loan today, so far I have been here an hour. They are also telling me they cannot print me a new registration that I have to go tongue tag office. Crazy how easy it was for them to print the new vehicle registration. Hopefully all things will work out doing my best to stay positive. I will never purchase a vehicle here again. I will never let anyone I know purchase a vehicle here. Pretty cars but they are no good if they leave you on the side of the road (three times) The only reason I gave two stars was because they did take the Mercedes back and I liked Libby the sales woman.

This company is a joke and so are the owners. Spanos is a scam and they rig all the cars together to get them on the road. They ran my credit so many times it knocked my credit score 71 points. They are very unprofessional. They can't keep employees so every time you go there you have to deal with a new person

MY PATIENCE IS RUNNING THIN!

TOM, NO KEY AGAIN IN THE MAIL. THIS IS REALLY RIDICULOUS!! I CALLED TO SPEAK TO ELI AND APPARENTLY HE IS NOT IN AND YOU WERE NOT AVAILABLE.

REALLY AT THIS POINT THERE IS NO KEY. HOWEVER, I SHOULD NOT PAY FOR THE RADIO FACE PLATE BECAUSE NO ONE TOLD ME THE EJECT BUTTON WAS BROKEN. I ALSO DID NOT NEED TO PAY FOR A NEW REMOTE KEY WHICH I DID BECAUSE THE CAR WAS NOT LOCKING! I FIXED THE OUTSIDE PILLAR AND THE INSIDE WHICH WAS INSTALLED WITH MISSING CLIPS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER THREE WEEKS NOW ! MY PATIENCE IS RUNNING THIN!

I WILL NOW RATE YOU AND SPANOS MOTORS ON DEALER RATER HOW TERRIBLE THE SERVICE HAS BEEN; I WILL CONTACT CAPITAL ONE FINANCE AND YOUR LOCAL TELEVISION STATION SO MY VOICE IS HEARD. I HAVE EMAILS OVER AND OVER AGAIN ON RESOLVING THESE ISSUES WHICH WAS OVER LOOKED. I HAVE TAKEN THE INITIATIVE TO RESOLVE THE REMOTE KEY AND PILLARS BECAUSE THE CAR WAS LOCKING. OUT OF GOOD WILL I SUGGESTED FOR SPANOS TO PURCHASE THE RADIO FACE PLATE AND I WILL PAY FOR THE LABOR HERE AT A RADIO SHOP. HOWEVER YOUR ANSWER WAS FOR ME TO PAY FOR RADIO FACE PLATE AND DRIVE UP FOR FREE LABOR. REALLY ! SPENT MONEY ON GAS AND MY TIME WHEN I COULD RESOLVE THIS ISSUE 5 MIN FROM MY WORK. MY PATIENCE IS RUNNING THIN!

I DECIDED TO PURCHASED A CAR FAR AWAY FROM SOUTH FLORIDA BECAUSE OF LIES AND LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM, APPARENTLY THE PROBLEM IS STATE WIDE!

REALLY FOUR WEEKS FOR A MAIL KEY AND NO ANSWER ON RESOLVING THE MINOR ISSUES THAT SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE INSPECTED!!!

I just had a bad experience with Spanos and as a result DID NOT buy a car. They are upset with me that I left a long "bad" review of my experience so they are leaving bad reviews on my business Google Business Places.

I was told by Eli that if I removed the bad reviews he would have the bad reviews of my business removed. NOT A CHANCE. I don't want to post my emails but would love to talk with you about your situation. Tom, was the screw up in our situation also.

Please contact me through mmgwow.com. Looks like they have successful used online reputation management to boost their Google rating with questionable reviews and force bad reviews down the page.

If is willing to scroll on down they will find less than favorable reviews, with most people bringing up the same issues we experienced.

Review in Dealers category from Miami, Florida

My father bought an suv e few weeks ago from Spanos and it had some cosmetic and a/c issues. The salesman promised that all work will be fixed because most of the items were on their list to be fixed before sold anyway. They even gave a "we owe" sheet. It was decided to leave vehicle there til complete. Going on three weeks now and still at their dealership. They keep promising to get it done, but nothing is done and now they won't even return phone calls. Follow through on their part is horrible. If the car you want is actually there, make sure it is 100% complete before you sign for it.

TERRIBLE SERVICE AND COMMUNICATION

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
BUYER BEWARE!!! READ BEFORE YOU BUY!! The absolute worst car buying experience ever. Started out as an internet search that yielded many great cars on the lot that we wanted to see. When we arrived we were greeted by Steve Radican. The worst car salesman ever. Talked a real big game. Wel the one car we were interested was not available anymore and after reading other reviews, im not sure it ever was available. After about an hour or so of browsing we had decided on a BMW 528i 2010. The car needed a few things done before our purchase so spanos typed up an "we owe" sheet. One nice thing they did extra was tint the windows(even though quality was low and had bubbles in it). I completed al the paperwork and set a date to bring the car back to finish up the minor repairs and get a FULL 6 hour detail with clay bar and wax Steve said. I drive back a week later for the appt and when I arrive Steve said the appt was for sunday, even though i watched him put it in the system and me and my wife both had the date on our calenders. There was no loaner vehicles available at the time. So I now drove 90 min for no reason. At this point I told steve that I Was going to need them to come pickup the car and drop it off while leaving me a loaner vehicle. He agreed and said he would call me. I waited a few days and no call. After 10 days I called and spoke to the manager, Eli. Eli assured me that this is not how they do business and that he was now taking over. By the end of the day he called me to confirm the pickup of the car. Car was picked up next day and a stick shift kia was left for me as a loaner. Good thing my wife didnt have to drive it cause she cant drive stick. After 4 days I called in to check the status of the vehicle but ELi was unavailable. He never called back. I CALled again next day to no avail. Now 2 weeks later I call to get an update and notify Eli that I was going out of town for a week at new years and wanted to make arrangements if necesarry for the car while gone. Well i called 3 times and never spoke to Eli or got a call back. While away on vacation I called and left 2 messages for Eli which were never returned. ONCE home I called in @10am and Eli was not in yet. I Transferred over to service who said the car was getting tinted and would be done this afternoon. I called back 2 hours later and Eli still was not available. Steve at service was most helpful in telling me that the car had just got back and was being cleaned and should be ready in an hour. ELi still never called but I did get a call to notify me of the car coming back in the morning. A bit skeptical of the "6 hour detail" that was done in 2 tops, I Was still happy to finally get my car back. Once he arrived with the car in the morning I immedeatly noticed that the tow cover on front bumper wasnt replaced and the car was dirty all around. The interior was dusty and it appeared as if they did a quick vaccuum job only. THE Driver said he would get the part sent over. I called ELi later that day to verify the part but he was still unavailable. The part did show up in the mail but Eli has yet to call me back. WHen I did get the part, there was a piece of paper in the package. The paper seemed to be a document that only Steve Radican would have access to. It showed where he sold one car for a commission of $2750.00. Not sure why this was included besides to rub in my face the money he made off me with doing no work!! Its a shame because they do have alot of nice cars for decent prices but the service sucks. For the Manager to take control of the sale and make sure I was taken care of sounded great and just proved more frustrating in the end.
